Greetings, my name is Ashleigh, and I am a lover of the way art makes me feel. I find truth in what is created in a sense that is not something that can be talked about—it just is. It is something greater than words; it is the feeling of the impact of culture and how we influence others through it. My life has been the greatest movie I have ever seen, and that is the end goal: to live and create something outside of creation itself, to harmonize the two until they are aligned beyond control. The best part.
My influences come from music, fashion, colors, and concepts: retro, vintage, from a different scope of direction. I think my range is what makes me unique. I find that inspiration is derived from both the old and the new. I believe bringing back pieces of artistry and music can only inspire the modern age to connect present moments with timeless works of art.
Color scheme and conceptual design are by far the two most influential aspects of any art direction I reference. The combination has impacted my love for photography as a whole. I tend to capture frames with complementary style and shape, from the simple joys of minimalism and archaeology to abstract perceptions shaped into meanings or messages. Personal favorites: Wes Anderson (newly found fan here).
When I started as a photographer, I would take nature shots for fun, and it was a great way to escape into my own little world. Then, friends started paying me, and we would dress each other up, knowing how fun it is to be a muse. To feel like we had a choice of expression and to take control of the way we wanted to express it all. After a few years, I began to hunt at vintage shops to find pieces to use in my photos and spread the word about my business. Then I realized how much I loved turning this into a real, interconnected web full of beautiful people, and I might never stop. Cheers.
